About The Lake Blue Ridge Webcam

This webcam is located on a floating dock near the Horse Pointe area of the lake. It faces out at the main body of the lake and is equipped with internal and external night vision software/hardware.

The webcam typically rotates to preset positions on a timed, sequenced, schedule. The still-image cam uploads a new image grab every 10 seconds. Javascript should be enabled on your browser for the still image to refresh automatically every 10 seconds. Otherwise, hit your browser's "Refresh/Reload" button to see the latest cam image.

Can't See The Video Stream?

The best browser to use for the live video is Firefox; the video should play in Firefox without any modifications:

In Internet Explorer, if you cannot view the video stream, you're most likely lacking an ActiveX component that needs to be installed. There should be a light yellow bar at the top of this page:

http://www.blueridgelakecam.com/lowres.html

It should say something like, "This site might require the following ActiveX control 'Axis Media Control' from 'Axis Communications AB' Click here to install...".

Click on the light yellow bar, then choose "Install ActiveX Control...", then click the "Install" button when you get a pop-up window and you should be good to go for IE.

Javascript must be enabled to view the video streams.

Currently, the stream does not work in the Opera browser.
